Author: Have you spent a great deal of time learning to format a screenplay or spent money on a program to help you do this with discouraging results? You may be doing a decent job, but need to take it to the next level to get noticed. Here are some things you can do to make an average screenplay better.
Make sure each scene communicates a picture to those involved in making the film. Cover who, what, where and when. By doing so, you allow everyone to see the scene in his or her mind.
Make sure there is a point to your screenplay. Give viewers a reason to come see your film and then recommend it to others. The genre you choose plays a large role in determining this. Don’t start writing until you clearly know the purpose.
Thoroughly develop your characters. You want others to either love them or love to hate them. Characters make your story unique so make yours memorable.
These will help you to get started writing a great screenplay. Keep studying and you will be well on your way to a blockbuster hit in no time at all. Even George Lucas had to start somewhere.
