Why could a screenplay be rejected? It is one of the hardest items to deal with. One way of looking at it is simply just trying to figure out what could have happened. It’s tough because it’s like an ego shot but nevertheless it can happen. There is a reason that it could very well happen.

One potential reason could be that it may not be what a producer is looking for. With each movie, they are completely different so they will have different standards. It is not one that is considered a personal rejection because of hatred.

The other reason is that they may be because it may not have been that good. It isn’t a personal motive to outright hate it. While it may be good for some, it’s not for all.

The only thing that could be done is possibly try to get feedback on what could be done to improve for the next time. Anyone who aspires to write screenplays will not easily give up. All that could be done is simply try again and see if it will fit in what a company could be looking for. Just simply try again and see what happens.

Short films are great but do you know where to look to find the best ones? If you’ve got http://www.direct.tv/ channels you may stumble upon great shorts from time to time but here are a few unlikely sources to check, too.
Academy Awards: Visit the Oscars website to take a look at all the nominated shorts from the past. There’s actually a category for it and you’ll find the best of the genre listed out and sometimes even linked to – easy as pie!
SNL: You’ve heard of digital shorts, right? They may not be actual digital films but they’re interesting nonetheless. There’s a lot to think about when you’re watching these free-form version of the genre which can give you ideas for making your own short films, too.
Library of Congress: An unlikely source, the Library of Congress actually keeps on file a collection of notable films including a lot of shorts. You can check out some but many you have to watch on-site so make a day of it and browse the archives at one of the country’s best Libraries.

For those who are trying to write a screenplay, and want to get their play on stage, whether it is on a local or on a nation wide stage, making sure that you have a great story line is the first thing that has to be considered by the writer of the play. So, having a great story in mind, knowing the characters, and knowing what people want to see and watch, are all things that you have to keep in mind when you are writing a play, and when you are trying to get it out to the general public and on stage. Taking the time to consider the play, what people want to see, a great plot and story line, and all other aspects of writing, will ensure that the play you do write, wil get picked up by a local stage production show. You will also find that if you have a story and concept that is something many people would enjoy to watch, that the play might get picked up by larger studios, and larger production plays, in order for you to get your play out to a larger audience, and in new areas as well.

Perhaps everyone has a good story inside themselves, written or unwritten. Many people want to launch into the exciting work of screenplays. Selling movies to make money sounds like an easy thing to do, but is it? Actually, there are many steps that need to be taken into consideration before one can sell their screenplay legally. First you need to have a great story to begin with.

The next thing that needs to happen is the rights to this screenplay need to be exclusively yours. You can register your screenplay with The Writers Guild of America. The importance of this is to allow the persons play to be sort of copyrighted and protected. Then you can start sending them out to various companies. It is best to use an agent to do this. Most agents are highly trained and now how and where to send them too. However, if money is an issue, or one wants to do it themselves, there are ample pages available online that will show exactly where to send it too.

While it can be a taxing process, it is not hard. The hard part is getting someone to read your screenplay and be willing to follow through with your brilliant ideas. It can be done, persistence is key when dealing with distributing the screenplays.

Have you spent a great deal of time learning to format a screenplay or spent money on a program to help you do this with discouraging results? You may be doing a decent job, but need to take it to the next level to get noticed. Here are some things you can do to make an average screenplay better.

Make sure each scene communicates a picture to those involved in making the film. Cover who, what, where and when. By doing so, you allow everyone to see the scene in his or her mind.

Make sure there is a point to your screenplay. Give viewers a reason to come see your film and then recommend it to others. The genre you choose plays a large role in determining this. Don’t start writing until you clearly know the purpose.

Thoroughly develop your characters. You want others to either love them or love to hate them. Characters make your story unique so make yours memorable.

These will help you to get started writing a great screenplay. Keep studying and you will be well on your way to a blockbuster hit in no time at all. Even George Lucas had to start somewhere.

Why old short matter now is not based on their original popularity. In fact many of those older movies were not huge hits at the box office. However there are some intriguing reasons why fans, directors and producers are now turning their attention to the shorter films of yesteryear.

Who could forget the influence wielded by a Charlie Chaplin classic film entitled “Twenty Minutes of Love”? Hal Roach produced “Comedy Capers” which furthered the appeal of slapstick comedy. Even Walt Disney brought the audience to their feet with the many short cartoons that he created during the early days of Hollywood films.

These are just a few of the many short films that introduced a world-wide audience to the fantasy, laughter and beauty of imagination. What all of these short classics do show is that ‘less is more’. Every single moment does not have to be spelled out on screen when you can leave a few things to the ‘imagination’. The audience needs to be involved in what is happening on the screen but they also need to be able to create some of the scenes in their own minds.

When a film is produced that addresses all people it is far more effective. Love, comedy and human triumph are compelling elements that can help a filmmaker connect with the audience.Want to know more?

The power of a shorter film is often underestimated because of the popularity of long films. However, the short film is a powerful tool to convey the art of film by placing liberating constrictions of time. Because of the time constrictions there is less time available for introduction, back story, explanations or other such maintenance parts of film. Instead the best part of the movie, the climax, composes the majority percent of actual film time. In addition, every detail of the film can be masterfully analyzed because there is less content to review.
By placing restrictions on the usual amount of time, short films have removed all the fluff and replaced it with solid watchable material that keeps the viewer on the edge of your seat. Shorter films have been able to capture a wide variety of topics and emotions simply unsuitable to longer films and have masterfully left viewers simultaneously satisfied and desperate for more. In addition, short films are simply easier to make yet still able to show-case the vision and passion of film-makers. Many short films that have potential are sponsored by movie makers to expand upon the idea or universe to make a feature length film.
